After a week of building sculptures every day, I was tired... but yet the crowds wanted more. (Those crowds; they're so demanding! Ha ha.) I had several beach walkers remark: "What are you going to do today to out-do everything else you've done?"

Well, I decided to go for height.

The 7 foot+ lighthouse gets it's name from a young beach helper from Georgia by the name of Siebyl. If it hadn't been for her, I would have given up on this monster about 4 different times. But every time I'd be flat on my back with weariness, Siebyl would come over and say, "Get up! Get going!"

After four hours of packing sand, she climbed to the top of the forms insisting on "helping me pack that sand." She looked like the statue of liberty up there as she'd call down, "Needs more sand." Then, "Needs more water." She provided some great help, considering I couldn't even see that high into the form.

I guess this sculpture seemed tiresome also from the fierce afternoon electrical storms that chased everyone from the beach.

Just before the final storm that would settle in for the entire night, I took this last picture, facing east toward the Atlantic. To the left you can see the 2 day old "In Memory of the USS Arizona", the middle is the current project, and the right clump of sand is the remainder of the Cat Guarding the Cheese sculpture.

What a week. Lot's of fun. When can I do it again?
