Invariably I'll get asked this question while working on a
sand sculpture: "Why so happy, Ron?" There’s a verse in the Bible that I
always think of when someone asks me this question. “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” 1 Peter 3:15 (Emphasis mine) It all boils down to a moment back in 1981 when my “first love” girlfriend told me words that rocked my world: “I can’t date you anymore. It’s not right that a believer be dating an unbeliever.” Say what? It was that statement that started me on a search for God. If He was out there, I wanted to know. A few weeks later, while standing in a little church the truth came home, and suddenly I knew I was a lost sinner in need of a Savior. I asked Jesus to save me that day, and life hasn’t been the same since. Knowing Him is the reason for my hope. I may not
necessarily be “happy” everytime you run into me, but I’ll always try and
have joy. The joy that comes from knowing Him. Can you say the same? I pray that you’ll come to the same
knowledge. It’s not about a religion… It’s about a relationship. Want to know more? Click here
